Biography of Pastor John A. Coaxum

John Anthony Coaxum was born on March 20th 1987 in Charleston, South Carolina to his parents Anthony and Brenda Coaxum. He has two older siblings, Stefan and Dr.Toni Coaxum-Pinckney. After graduating the Academic Magnet High School he attended Oakwood University in Huntsville, Alabama. There he was involved in many ministries and clubs including S.T.A.N.D Ministries, The Progressive Black Caucus, and Vice President of the Religion and Theology Forum. While there he also received the Preaching award as well as the C.D. Brooks evangelism scholarship award. He graduated from Oakwood University in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology and Pastoral/Evangelism. In that same year he accepted a call to join the Allegheny West Conference.He also completed the Andrews Theological seminary with a Masters of divinity Degree. John has been involved in ministry since the age of fifteen; Doing Bible work, teaching, giving personal Bible studies, and preaching crusade and tent revivals here and abroad. John also served as the Religious Vice President and Worship director of BSCF (The Black Student Christian Forum) at Andrews University. When not involved in ministry he enjoys reading, Basketball, Football, and Playing guitar. John’s firmest belief is that He is a sinner saved by Grace. Nevertheless, a man that God loves, Christ died for, and the Holy Spirit Continues to convict. He has many favorite texts but Psalms 5:11, 12 has special significance to him:

11 But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them; Let those also who love Your name Be joyful in You.

12 For You, O LORD, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield.
